The Methodist might offer you different types of redress

If the Methodist Church accepts your claim, they may offer you the following types of redress (putting right the wrong that has been done):

a personal response from the Methodist Church. This may include:

  •  a spoken and/or written apology to you (and your whānau if appropriate) by the relevant part of the Methodist Church
  • funding for counselling or psychological care, if this is wanted
  • help to report the abuse to the Police, if needed and if you agree to it
  • a financial payment of money.

The Methodist Church may also pay your reasonable legal costs, or a contribution to those costs, but check this with them.
