The Sisters of Nazareth is now based in Melbourne, Australia.

They should hold records about:  

• St Joseph’s Orphanage (Halswell) in Christchurch  
• St Joseph’s Orphanage (Middleton) in Christchurch
• Nazareth House in Christchurch. 

If they do not have records about these places, you have the right to know why.

They need to respond to your request within 20 working days 

Under the Privacy Act, the Sisters of Nazareth needs to respond to your request within 20 working days. If they need more time to complete your request, they need to tell you why and how much longer it will take them.
