You can complain to the Territorial Headquarters

If you are unhappy about The Salvation Army's response to your request, you can make a complaint to their Territorial Headquarters (head office) by: 

You can use the same contact details if there are errors in your records that you want corrected. 

You might want to make a complaint if: 

  • they have taken more than 20 working days to respond to your records request 
  • you think they have redacted the wrong information from your copy of the records, or not given a good reason for the redactions. Learn more about redactions

If you are unhappy with their response to your complaint, you can contact the Privacy Commissioner 

The Privacy Commissioner deals with complaints about your rights to access and correct your personal information.  


For example, you can complain to the Privacy Commissioner if you are unhappy with The Salvation Army’s response to your complaint about redacting the wrong information from your copy of records about you. The Privacy Commissioner recommends that you make your complaint to The Salvation Army before making a complaint to them.
