How will Corrections provide my records to me?

You can receive the records emailed as PDFs or posted as paper copies

The Department of Corrections (Corrections) will email you PDFs unless you ask for them as paper copies.

You may be asked to view records instead of receiving copies

On rare occasions, you may be asked to view records once, as opposed to receiving copies you can keep. This usually applies to records that include:

  • CCTV (video) footage from inside a prison
  • CCTV footage that includes other people.

In this situation, you would be viewing it in the prison (if you are in prison) or at a Community Corrections site (if you are not in prison).

If you have a lawyer representing you who has requested the records on your behalf, Corrections may provide the footage to your lawyer to view.
