We invite you to tell us about your experience of requesting your records, if you would like to do so. With permission, we will collect these stories and publish them on the website to help others who are thinking of requesting their records.  

We may slightly edit stories for clarity and for individuals’ privacy.

We use analytics from Matomoopen_in_new to help us analyse how visitors use our website, so we can make improvements to our site structure, navigation and content.

When you subscribe to our newsletter, the details you provide are stored in a secure third-party database called Campaign Monitor which is a third-party email marketing platform. We will only use your personal information for managing your subscription and assessing newsletter effectiveness.

Campaign Monitor provides analytics to us on how people interact with our newsletter, including how many subscribers have opened emails or clicked on links.

This means that we will be able to see your email address and details about which newsletter you have opened and the links you have clicked on from the newsletter. We will only use this information to assess newsletter effectiveness.

We will not share your email addresses with any third-party organisations.

You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time. When you unsubscribe from our newsletter, your details will be deleted from the database on a regular basis.

You can also change your email preferences at any time.

When you use our online records request form

We have an online records request form you can choose to use, to request your records from any organisation.  

Our form tracks when a form is submitted, when, and which record holders people choose, including custom record-holders. We do not keep any personal information from the form.

When you engage with us on social media

We may use social networking services such as Facebook to communicate with the public about our work. When you communicate with us using these services, the social networking service may collect your personal information for its own purposes.

These services may track your use of our website on those pages where their links are displayed. If you are logged in to those services (including any Google service) while using our site, their tracking will be associated with your profile with them.
